Rules

This is the Official Rules 2007. They are also available in english. The original version is in french. Please read the rules carefully before beginning to participate in our championships.

SECTION 1 : Introduction

This website www.grandprix4.org organizes following 3 championships : F1, MSS and Hotlaps.
This league is also called the CVGPi (or CVGP4i) : Virtual Championship of Grand Prix (4) on Internet (but the CV is flipped in French).

These championships are based on the video game Grand Prix 4, sold by Infogrammes. Every person wanting to participate here must buy this game before being able to race here.

These championships are free : no financial contribution is asked from anyone.
They are also friendship : the participation of each registered member is not obligatory for each event.

These championships are held offline : each player does his qualifies/races in his home against the computer cars of the game, without internet connexion to other players, and then uploads the result to the website.

Each championship consists of events taking place according a precise calendar. At the end of each event, the verification team checks the files then validates the event.

Validated players will receive points according to the results and according a point scale and added up to the proper championship.

These Official Rules 2007 are divided in several parts, corresponding to various championships:
- The General Rules (this page)
- The F1 Rules, for the F1 championship
- The MSS Rules, for the MSS championship
- The Hotlaps Rules, for the Hotlaps championship

Theses rules are applying to the CVGPi championships and are available at the www.grandprix4.org.

SECTION 2 : Participation

In order to play and to participate to the championships, you must register yourself on the website with the provided registration form.

To particpate in our Grand Prix 4 championships, you must have:
- The Grand Prix 4 (GP4) video game
- The official patch 9.6 from Infogrames (free)
- The CVGPi patch (free)  MODIF FOR 2008: NEW PATCH OBLIGATORY, 2 versions: with or without the F1 driving aid
- The GPxPatch software version 3.92 (free)

All these files are availables in the download section of our website, except the Grand Prix 4 game itself.

The GP4 game must always be launched through the GPxPatch software.

In order to know if your game, the multiple patches and necessary software have been installed correctly, we encourage you to save a hotlap in your game let it check with our tool "Verification of your lap" available in your member section (registration required).
